SAAB SCULPTURE VII
An installation as part of the Saab Sculptures, a series of works placing the Saab 900 car in different contexts, thus questioning, transforming, pimping public and private space. Different sound pieces explore the possibilities of the 12 Toa intercom-loudspeakers mounted on top of its roof, always tailored to the acoustics of the place. Sculpting voyages, resonating with the space, focusing on the physicality of the sound.
During a residency in august 2022 Amber Meulenijzer made a piece in/for an abandoned tunnel in the city centre of Eupen. The basis of this composition is acoustic feedback recorded in the same space, filling it up with its own resonance. City sounds slip into a hypnotising, almost breathing composition. A work embodying absence and presence. Feel the sound pressure rising and falling, beating tones massaging your eardrums.
The installation is situated in the Borngasse and will be accessible from Friday to Sunday, from 14:00 to 17:00
