Brussels producer, DJ and Maloca Records boss Le Motel effortlessly bridges music and visual artistry. His world is a vortex of sight and sound that takes in the many and varied corners of the planet. He is also active as a composer for film and as a field recordist.
2023 was a pivotal year in Le Motel’s career, collaborating on a track with UK Grime artist Flowdan for the latest Fabric compilation, composing the soundtrack to Bottega Veneta’s AW23 Show and touring China and Canada. His latest release on YUKU features 160 bpm polyrhythms and draws on his prior love for footwork. Together with Bruce Wijn, he released MAAR on Cortizona, focusing on tape textures, field recordings and glitchy effects.
