Georgian electronic music composer Anushka Chkheidze, born in Tbilisi in 1997 and now based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, is a young talent of extreme promise. Raised in the small village of Kharagauli, she began singing in a choir at the age of 11. She herself describes the time she spent there as magical and believes her music is strongly influenced by her childhood. She has released on Morr Music (together with Robert Lippok), Isa Records, and CES Records. She has collaborated with Peter Evans, Brìghde Chaimbeul, Jonathan Bonny, and Daniel Adikashvili. Peter Evans is a composer, trumpet player, improvisor, and bandleader based in New York City since 2003. Evans is part of a broad, hybridized scene of musical experimentation, and his work cuts across a wide range of modern musical practices and traditions.
