Touch Sensitive, Modern Love - IRE

Sunday
14:30

Elaine Howley is a Cork-based singer and producer. She is a member of psychedelic rock group The Altered Hours, ambient trio Crevice, and cinematic duo HowlBux. Howley released her debut solo album, The Distance Between Heart and Mouth, on Touch Sensitive Records. Her music joins the dots between pop and experimentation, summoning the kaleidoscopic world of Trish Keenan and Broadcast, the bruised lo-fi soul of Tirzah, and the dubbed-out blues of Leslie Winer. She blends experimental and analog processes with a love for classic songwriting and melody. Immersed in both the experimental music scenes in her adopted home of Cork and the DIY ethos of Ireland’s alternative rock community, Howley’s music grew out of years of varied, extensive collaborative practice, performance, and experimentation. By absorbing the wisdom of the process, Howley permits her craft to resound ever deeper.
