Founded in 1990, Ensemble Musikfabrik (Landesensemble NRW) is an internationally acclaimed Cologne-based ensemble dedicated to contemporary music. Renowned for commissioning and producing new works, the group collaborates closely with composers, presenting innovative concerts and interdisciplinary projects involving electronics, dance, theatre, and visual arts. With its own CD series and label, Musikfabrik explores experimental forms and houses unique instruments, including a full set of Harry Partch’s creations. Since 2026, the ensemble has Gregor Hotz as its director. They will perform two pieces by American composer Morton Feldman: The Viola in My Life 2 (1970) and Clarinet and String Quartet (1983).
