Andrea Ermke and Anais Tuerlinckx have been playing as a duo since 2012. Found objects are central to their musical approach. Born in Brussels, pianist Anaïs Tuerlinckx moved to Berlin in 2008 and has since been part of the vibrant and diverse Berlin improv music scene. In her work, she explores the inner piano, tending towards a more physical and expansive way of playing. Her performances are characterized by noise and harsh sounds, but also delve into the elegiac. Austrian Andrea Ermke lives and works as a musician in Berlin. Since the 1990s, she has been part of the core of what is called Echtzeitmusik. Self-taught, she has developed a very personal and uncompromising style of collage, working with mini-discs, field recording, sampling and hands-on sounds since 1995.
