Gert-Jan Prins focuses on the sonic and musical qualities of electronic noise and percussion and investigates their relationship with the visual. He started his career as a drummer, but his work also includes performances, sound-installations, compositions,
electronic circuits and various collaborations with other musicians and visual artists. Prins makes connections with modern electronic club culture, occupying a radical position with his investigation of electronic sound and its relationship to the visual.
He also creates links with the1980s performance art and machine art which reshaped the legacy of industrial society to produce threatening, yet sometimes also sublime, encounters with technology.
