This informal session brings together Karen Willems (electronics, voice, pan flute, percussion), Nicola Lancerotti (modular synthesizer, electronics), and Thomas Olbrechts (alto saxophone). Belgian drummer and percussionist Karen Willems is active in various fields, on a mission of searching, feeling, and letting go, with adventure and connection as underlying key motifs. Nicola Lancerotti is a largely self-taught double bassist and bassist, with some formal studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (with Uli Glaszmann) and Brussels (with Bart De Nolf). He has been active on the jazz, pop, and improvisation scenes since the early 2000s. Saxophonist and instant composer Thomas Olbrechts has developed a strong individual musical discourse that plays off rigid saxophone techniques and composition systems against each other. As an alto saxophone player “pur sang,” he is considered a true autodidact.
