Inspired by a deep connection to his South African roots and a desire to bridge the gap between continents, legendary producer Portable coined the term African Ambient. This new project serves as a sonic exploration of his diverse musical and cultural journey, bringing together the rhythms and melodies of Africa with the ambient sounds of Europe. Like a musical diary, it is a reflection on the many places he has called home, between Africa and Europe. With releases on Circus Company, Perlon, Background and many more labels, Portable has been a unique voice in contemporary club and electronic music for almost 25 years. His new African Ambient project absorbs the rich cultural influences of both Africa and Europe, creating a unique artistic identity that transcends geographic boundaries, creating a harmonious and culturally rich musical landscape that reflects his upbringing and experiences.
