The Meakusma Festival 2022 is over and it was beautiful. We are so thrilled to have been able to share four days of music, adventure and gentle mayhem with you.

Thanks to all participating artists, volunteers, our trusted partners and of course you, our audience. Setting up the festival again after a two year break was challenging, but so worth it. There is a lot of room for improvement, but for us, this edition was special, even magical! Many of our performers told us they prepared specials sets for the festival. We feel privileged. It adds to the amazing feeling 2022’s edition gives us. The festival was again attended by people from all over the world. We feel extremely lucky the general festival vibe was one of respect, open mindedness and celebration. 

We will be back in 2024, which means we will take a break in 2023. Some things need resetting as the festival keeps growing. We will stick to the four day setup as the first Thursday of this year’s edition proved a perfect and easygoing introduction to the festival. Also our working relationship with Eupen city government as well as with the Alter Schlachthof venue needs streamlining. Organizing a festival in 2023 would mean starting work on it right now, but all of us are in need of a break and some time with our families.

Not much more to add. We will now be working on some of the amazing releases we are preparing to unleash and on the many projects we are already setting up.
