Philipp Matalla deals with the sabotage of common patterns and dynamics in music scenes by drawing on a multifaceted repertoire. Contentually this leads to clashes of contrary conceptions related to textures and songs, bridges and edges or folklore and industry. He’s based in Berlin, Leipzig and inbetween, from where he released several records on labels such as kann, internasjonal and kashual plastik.

The Berlin based vinyl, tape & art label Kashual Plastik: an initiative founded by “Optik” for hedonistic and free spirited Musik lovers. The releases are dedicated to the odd sounds of the underground and Plastik Universe is no different: casually combining and selecting tunes from all over the musical spectrum.
