54 Sound is a completely handcrafted soundsystem, built by 54 Kolaktiv and friends. They will play a DJ set on it themselves. Noticing a significant lack of high-quality mobile sound systems in Brussels and inspired by Jamaican soundsystem and free party cultures, they decided to build their own. The system was developed during a workshop in September 2014, under the guidance of the Belgian reggae crews Jahmbassador Hi-Fi and Ionyouth Sound. 54Kolaktiv now organizes parties using their own soundsystem, but the system is also available to other organizations and for other events. 54 Kolaktiv is a classic Meakusma Festival feature, in the garden of the Alter Schlachthof.
