Core Shift plays Ambient/Techno spiced with Experimental Electronics. The music is characteristic thanks to the typical use of layered sounds which is both intense and subtle; the listener is carried along in a sonic space similar to the sea, where Core Shift’s sound can be compared as currents that blend and alter. Added pulsating rhythms complete the sound to be described as ‘Dance for the mind’.
Core Shift is one of many projects run by sound and recording artist Mike Kramer. His work invites listeners to get intimate with the sounds presented, using Field Recordings combined with electronic composition as an often presented working method.
Mike is also known for being the initiator and artistic director of (h)ear – experimental audio research (www.h-ear.org) and is program maker and live concert recording engineer for Concertzender (www.concertzender.nl).
