Having become known for his ghostly, rhythmically elusive representations of UK techno and bass music, London-based producer and DJ Parris now finds himself on the crest of the wave of adventurous UK producers bringing a fresh futuristic bounce and sonic adventure to the 4/4 template.
The spectral low-end drift of Parris’s music allows him to work the periphery of conventional club expectations, his DJ sets twitching with erratic psychedelic energy while rattling the cage exactly when they need to, as fierce recent sessions for Batu’s Timedance party (alongside Laurel Halo), De School in Amsterdam and Livity Sound would attest.
Parris has a flurry of releases to his name, including ‘Burr’ (Idle Hands, 2014), ‘Skeletal’ (Ancient Monarchy, 2016), ‘Your Kiss Is Sour’ (Hemlock Recordings, 2017) ‘2 Vultures’ (Trilogy Tapes) and a recently announced 12” for Idle Hands, which features a Kassem Mosse remix on the flip.
