Tommi Grönlund founded the legendary Sähkö Recordings label, releasing music by Mika Vainio, Panasonic Mike Ink, Kirlian, Jimi Tenor, among others. Since 1993, he has been working with Petteri Nisunen as Grönlund/Nisunen on artistic and curatorial projects. The duo primarily develops kinetic and spatial installations that deal with the fundamental qualities of space. Their work has been shown in numerous solo exhibitions both in Finland and internationally. Grönlund is an essential part to a musical aesthetic that in the 90s took its cues from club and rave culture and molded it into abstract, yet extremely impactful experimental electronics. His DJ sets are proof of his years active in the vanguard of modern experimental music. He recently started a radio show on Eupen-based Studio Néau.
